This Getting Started track is for JSP / JSF website developers, who would like to build websites that publish content from a Hippo Repository. You will be taken through downloading and installing the Hippo Repository, the Hippo CMS and the Hippo Site Toolkit, which can act as a framework for your project.

Introduction

The Hippo Site Tookit is a project that is useful for starting your own projects to publish sites from a Hippo Repository by means of JSP or JSF front-end technology.

Installation

A full Hippo installation comes in three components, the Hippo Repository, where your content is kept, the Hippo CMS which you use to edit that content and your site that publishes the content. These components communicate using WebDAV and JMS.

Using the Hippo Site Toolkit

The Site Toolkit was created by and for front-end developers to provide an easy and flexible set of compontents while developing their Java front-end applications in combination with Hippo CMS and Hippo Repository.

You can continue this getting started track at the Quickstart at the Hippo Site Toolkit website. For more information about the Hippo Site Toolkit see the Hippo Site Toolkit website.
